Unlocking Blackberry Curve 8900 Titanium....?

If i get this phone unlocked will the internet on it work with any other sim? Or will it require a special sim as it is an internet phone?

Theoretically, the phone should work with any SIM card. Although bear in mind that the Curve 8900 does not have 3G, so you would not be able to use it with a 3 SIM card because that network requires a 3G signal in order to work.

It's also worth noting that when you get a Blackberry as part of a contract, you are automatically put onto a contract specifically for Blackberry phones. These contracts give you unlimited data usage and web surfing. This is because Blackberry phones are permanently connected to the web and - if you intend to use it for e-mail - they are frequently synchronising with your mailbox every few minutes. Normal mobile phones do not do this, therefore data usage is charged. But with a Blackberry, the data usage is so high that the networks do not charge for it - but this ONLY applies with a special Blackberry contract.

So if you're going to use it as a Pay & Go handset, then you need to be aware that it will cost you an absolute fortune to use a Blackberry for the purpose for which it is intended - your credit will disappear in no time with all the data usage. Blackberry phones are not available to buy as Pay & Go handsets for this very reason.

And if you already have a contract with a network (a normal contract not designed for a Blackberry), then you also need to be prepared to pay for data usage. I doubt that your network provider would transfer you to a Blackberry contract because you have not obtained the handset from them.

So make sure you've checked everything out cost-wise before you start using the phone!
